3. How We Collect Information

We collect personal information through:

  • Direct interactions: When you contact us by email, complete forms, or book meetings

6. International Transfers

Some of our service providers operate in the United States. This includes Google (Analytics), Calendly (scheduling), and GitHub (code repositories). When we disclose personal information to these providers, that information may be processed and stored in the USA.

Before disclosing personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure that overseas recipients handle your information in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles. This includes reviewing their privacy and security practices and, where appropriate, entering into contractual arrangements that require APP-equivalent protections.

By using our website and services, you acknowledge this cross-border transfer.

7. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use several technologies to understand how visitors use our website and measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns:

Cookies

Small text files stored on your device. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect website functionality and our ability to measure advertising effectiveness.

Cloudflare Web Analytics

We use Cloudflare's privacy-focused server-side analytics that do not use cookies or collect personal information. This provides us with baseline traffic statistics (page views, geographic distribution, performance metrics) while respecting your privacy.

LinkedIn Insight Tag

We use LinkedIn's Insight Tag to measure the effectiveness of our LinkedIn advertising campaigns and to build audiences for targeted advertising on LinkedIn. This technology:

  • Places cookies on your device to track your visit and conversions from LinkedIn ads
  • May link your activity to your LinkedIn profile if you are logged in
  • Allows us to retarget website visitors with relevant LinkedIn advertisements
  • Provides demographic insights about visitors (company, industry, job function)

You can opt out of LinkedIn advertising cookies here: LinkedIn Retargeting Opt-Out.

Device Fingerprinting

We use device fingerprinting technology (Fingerprint, Inc.) to understand how visitors interact with our site across multiple sessions, particularly for long B2B consideration cycles (30-90 days). This technology:

  • Creates a pseudonymous identifier based on your browser and device characteristics (such as screen resolution, installed fonts, and device configuration)
  • Does not collect biometric information or personal data
  • Helps us attribute conversions accurately and understand which content influences your decision, even if you clear cookies or switch devices during your research process
  • Is used for security and fraud prevention (detecting bots, preventing abuse)
  • Data residency: Device fingerprint data is processed and stored in India (Asia Pacific region) by Fingerprint, Inc. Device identifiers are pseudonymous and are not linked to personal information unless you submit a contact form

Unlike cookies, device fingerprints cannot be easily cleared. If you object to device fingerprinting, please contact us at hello@netevo.com.au.

Managing Your Preferences

Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies and clear stored data. You can:

  • Block cookies through your browser settings
  • Opt out of LinkedIn advertising cookies (link above)
  • Contact us to opt out of device fingerprinting

Note that blocking cookies or device fingerprinting may affect website functionality and our ability to provide relevant content recommendations.

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. Our measures include:

  • Encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest
  • Access controls limiting data access to authorised personnel
  • Secure cloud infrastructure with reputable providers
  • Regular review of security practices

No system is completely secure. If we become aware of a data breach likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

9. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law:

  • Enquiries and correspondence: Retained for the duration of any ongoing relationship, then archived for 7 years
  • Engagement records: 7 years from completion (to meet limitation period and tax record requirements)
  • Cloudflare analytics data: ~6 months (per Cloudflare's terms)
  • LinkedIn Insight Tag data: Per LinkedIn's privacy policy (~2 years for advertising purposes)
  • Device fingerprint data: 180 days (to support long B2B sales cycles)
  • Conversion event data: 365 days (for annual reporting and attribution analysis)
  • Tax and financial records: 5 years (as required by the ATO)

When personal information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

10. Your Rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you (APP 12)
  • Request correction of inaccurate, incomplete, or out-of-date information (APP 13)
  • Opt out of receiving direct marketing communications at any time

To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@netevo.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable period (typically 30 days). We may need to verify your identity before processing your request. Access may be refused in certain circumstances permitted by law, in which case we will provide reasons.

11. Complaints

If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles or have concerns about how we handle your personal information, please contact us:

Email: hello@netevo.com.au

We will investigate your complaint and respond within 30 days. If you remain dissatisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC):
